Tariffs and Fees
Tariffs and fees are charged to subscribers to secure the funds needed to operate and maintain the Dura Water and Sanitation Department, and to support development programs and projects.
Fees vary according to factors such as consumption, type of service, operating and maintenance costs, and the general economic situation.
A tiered tariff based on the principle that “those who consume more pay more” may be applied, to encourage water conservation and the best use of water.
The department offers discounts or exemptions to specific groups, such as low-income families or subscribers taking part in water conservation programs, to balance funding requirements with beneficiaries' needs.
Water line extension contribution:
A new connection may require extending water lines to the subscriber's location. In such cases, an additional financial contribution is charged, as approved by the board of the Dura Water and Sanitation Department, to cover the cost of the extension. The amount depends on the length of the extension, the location and the work required.
4″ line extensions are fully covered by the department.
For 1″ and 2″ line extensions, the subscriber pays 50% of the cost.
¾″ household connections are paid for by the subscriber.
