Dura International Stadium, named Houari Boumediene Stadium in honor of Algeria's noble stance on the Palestinian cause, is one of the most prominent sports venues in Palestine. It opened in 2011 with a match between the Palestinian and Italian Olympic teams, attended by more than 20,000 spectators.

The stadium currently holds 14,000 spectators, and once all its parts are completed its capacity will reach 25,000. Since its opening, it has hosted many international, continental and Arab tournaments, as well as Palestinian league and cup competitions, including the Martyr Yasser Arafat Cup. In 2013, it also hosted a historic visit by FC Barcelona for a special training session in front of a large crowd.

The stadium has hosted many Arab and international teams, such as the national teams of South Africa, Tunisia and Pakistan, the Japanese women's team, the Italian women's team, Al-Wehdat of Jordan, and the Iraqi Air Force team.

The stadium has several multipurpose halls used by local institutions for meetings and workshops. It has also hosted distinctive national events, such as the display of the largest Palestinian keffiyeh in the country and the world, covering 3,000 m², in partnership with the South Hebron Directorate of Education.

Dura Municipality is working to complete all of the stadium's facilities so that it remains a proud sporting landmark for all of Palestine.
