Partner Community

The Partner Community Initiative
As part of its vision of a more inclusive and united city, Dura Municipality launched the “Partner Community“ initiative, a pioneering community initiative that involves all groups in society in decision-making and promotes the values of participation, diversity and empowerment.
Main Objectives of the Initiative
by adapting infrastructure and public services to their needs, and ensuring equal access to education, work and health care, to strengthen their independence and active participation.
by providing a supportive environment that encourages economic, social and cultural participation, supporting women's entrepreneurship, and expanding education and training.
by establishing elected youth councils and educational and awareness initiatives that enable them to contribute effectively to local policies and projects.
by strengthening communication between generations and enabling older people to share their experience and knowledge to enrich the present and shape a better future.
Dura Municipality has formed neighborhood committees across the city as a direct link between residents and the Municipality. They help identify local needs and priorities and carry out volunteer, environmental and social initiatives, strengthening community participation and transparency in municipal work.
Dura Youth Council:
Believing that young people are the foundation of the present and the builders of the future, Dura Municipality established an elected youth council representing all groups of young people in the city, to take an active part in local decision-making alongside the Municipal Council. This experience reflects the Municipality's belief that comprehensive development can only be achieved through broad community participation led by young people.
Outcomes of youth participation:
- Direct contribution to shaping local projects and programs.
- Innovative ideas and visions for development, the environment and culture.
- Representing young people's aspirations and needs in local policies.
- Raising awareness of social, educational and health issues.
- Reviving cultural and sports life to strengthen belonging and solidarity.
- Developing leadership and teamwork skills and preparing an aware and responsible generation.
Toward a more inclusive community
Through Partner Community, with its neighborhood committees, youth councils and various initiatives, Dura Municipality continues to build a development model based on social justice, equal opportunities and transparency. The initiative reflects a modern vision in line with global development agendas and makes citizens key partners in shaping the city's future.
