Development and Investment Unit
Development and Investment Unit: Dura's Partner for a Prosperous Future
Vision
Leading sustainable economic development and providing the best investment environment to raise the quality of life and services in Dura.
The Development and Investment Unit is Dura Municipality's active arm, turning strategic visions into tangible economic and social results.
Our work rests on three core pillars:
Maximizing investment opportunities and encouraging the private sector to develop infrastructure and improve the business environment
Human and economic development by supporting key sectors and providing vocational training and employment for graduates and entrepreneurs
Developing assets and revenues by managing municipal property effectively and developing projects with a sustainable return to fund public services.
The Unit's vision is put into practice through strategic projects and partnerships that strengthen the city's economic and development capacity:
We give top priority to developing energy and infrastructure projects, studying and enabling major solar energy projects in partnership with the private sector, and carrying out vital infrastructure projects, most notably the Dura Hospital Bridge project.
We focus on Real Estate Investment and Municipal Asset Development, by managing and updating the Municipality's property portfolio and launching major investment projects that serve the community, such as the New Commercial Complex project, and by using the rooftops of water tanks and buildings to generate revenue.
The Unit leads Development and Local Partnerships programs, managing funding programs and partnerships with international institutions (such as the Tunisian Foundation for Supporting the Schools Sector) and local employment partners, to support small and entrepreneurial projects and create jobs.
The Unit continues its work in Supporting the Environment and the Agricultural Community by coordinating the “Green Dura” initiatives, supporting agricultural committees in opening and rehabilitating agricultural roads, and providing farmers with the support they need. Our work also includes Implementing Capacity and Facility Projects, following up on the launch of specialized community facilities such as the Vocational Training Center and the Engineers Club in cooperation with the relevant ministries and unions.
The Unit believes that investment thrives in an environment of trust and professionalism. It is therefore committed to strengthening governance and applying the highest standards of integrity, transparency and accountability in managing all municipal projects and investments, as well as improving performance through the continuous development of administrative and service procedures to ensure efficient and professional public services.
