Dura Municipality, through Photonix Energy Investments, has begun installing solar panels at the car park next to the Dura Martyrs Cultural Center. The work is part of the renewable energy projects the Municipality is carrying out in partnership with the private sector, under investment agreements signed earlier to build solar power stations at several key sites in the city.
The project is part of the Municipality's plan to rely more on clean energy and to use available spaces to generate solar electricity, helping to cut operating costs, reduce carbon emissions and support sustainable development.
The project will also add value to the site by providing modern shades for parked vehicles, protecting cars from the sun and the weather while producing electricity, in a model that combines environmental benefits with community service.
The first phase covers several sites, including the Cultural Center square, the municipal swimming pool and selected sites inside Dura Municipality Park. The work is being carried out to the highest technical specifications under the supervision of specialized staff, reflecting an effective partnership between the Municipality and the private sector in developing green and sustainable infrastructure.
For citizens' safety and to ensure full compliance with public safety procedures, the part of the car park where the panels are being installed has been closed temporarily until the work is completed.
These projects are part of the Municipality's strategic vision to expand the use of renewable energy in public facilities and promote sustainable development investment, improving the quality of services for citizens, supporting the local economy, and moving toward a more sustainable city that manages its resources efficiently.
