Dura Municipality and Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation Support Persons with Disabilities

The Community Rehabilitation Department at Dura Municipality, in partnership with the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation, held an assessment session for a number of persons with disabilities in the city. The session also included the distribution of assistive devices and equipment to several beneficiaries according to their individual needs, with the aim of facilitating their daily lives, enhancing their independence, and promoting their community participation.

The assessments included specialized evaluations in hearing and speech, learning difficulties, psychological and social well-being, vision, and mobility. The team also followed up on the conditions of several children with disabilities and identified their needs for appropriate services and assistive devices. In addition, the team conducted field visits to individuals who face difficulties leaving their homes, ensuring that they could be reached and their needs properly assessed.

This session is part of Dura Municipality’s ongoing efforts under the “Community Partnership” initiative to support persons with disabilities, identify their needs, and facilitate their access to appropriate services in cooperation with relevant institutions and associations. These efforts aim to improve their quality of life and promote their inclusion in the community.

The Municipality invites citizens who, or whose family members, experience sensory, mobility, learning, psychological, or social difficulties to contact the Community Rehabilitation Department at the Municipality to identify their needs and arrange for the appropriate assessment.
