A partner community with the municipality
The Sharek Community Initiative is a community initiative launched by the municipality
that aims to involve the local community, enhance diversity and social participation, and empower all segments of society.
The main objectives of the Sharek Community Initiative include:
1-Integration
of persons with disabilities: The project aims to provide equal opportunities for persons with disabilities in society, whether by providing appropriate means of transportation, providing appropriate jobs, or providing the necessary
health and educational services.
2- Empowering Women: The project seeks to
empower women and provide opportunities for effective participation in various aspects of community and economic life, whether through providing education and training or supporting entrepreneurship for women.
3-Activating the role of youth in decision-making: The project aims to encourage youth participation in decision-making and highlight the importance of their role in
developing society and making worthwhile decisions. This can include workshops and educational initiatives targeting young people.
4-Benefiting from the experiences of the elderly: The project works to benefit from the experience and wisdom of the elderly in society by encouraging communication between generations and involving them in transferring experiences and personal history for the benefit of the rising generations.
Such initiatives play an important role in building a more diverse, solidarity-based and empowering society for all its members. Achieving these goals requires cooperation and joint efforts between the municipality, the local community and the relevant partners.
Enhancing the role and participation of youth in decision making :
Youth in dura have the largest share of the story , as it enhances youth participation
in democratic local bodies and contributes to building a more inclusive and prosperous society that meets the needs of all its members therefore ,young people must be encouraged to participate effectively in political and social life at the local level , and this is what the municipality of dura embodied , as the municipality
worked hard to form an elected youth council that would complement and participate in the municipal council .
We believe that the people who carry and elevate Dura are its youth , old ,and young .
The municipality of Dura believes that youth work in local bodies represents an important part of community participation and local democracy , as local bodies
are considered vital places for making decisions and implementing policies and services at the municipal or city level .
Youth work in the city of Dura was distinguished by:
*Participation
in decision-making : youth can participate in making decisions related to projects and programs that affect their lives and the lives of their community:
the role of youth in representing their opinions and interests and determining their priorities is enhanced .
*providing new vision and aspirations : youth can bring new and creative ideas to local bodies , they may have different visions about sustainable development ,environment , culture ,and economy.
*Represnting young communities : represnting young people within these bodies is essential
because they represent a different age group that faces unique challenges and opportunities . young people may have better insights into what a young
community needs .
*working on social and environmental issues : young people can work on local social and
environmental improvements and promote awareness of important issues such as education , health and sustainable development .
*participationin cultural and sporting activities : young people can work on organizing cultural and sporting events and activities that enhance community cohesion and contribute to community development .
*develop leadership and teamwork by participting
in local bodies. This helps them become active citizens and contributors to the development of their community .
