About the Dura City
Naming and origin
The name Dura is taken from “dor” which is a canaanite name meaning dwelling , and the old name for it is “Adoraim”. In the roman era , it was mentioned as ( Adora ).
About the Dura Municipality
The municipality of Dura was established on january 1 , 1967 . it is a semi-govermental “services” institution to serve the city of Dura , which is one of cities in the hebron

Based on the importance of providing services to all the people of the city, especially the marginalized groups, the municipality of Dura realized this role and provided a plot of land with an area of (3 acres) at a cost of (150) thousand dinars to build a rehabilitation center for people with special needs.
Dura Municipality Complex for Public Vehicles
The complex works to contain all public transport vehicles on the internal roads of the city of Dura in the main square of the complex. Its main purpose is to organize the parking process, as well as to eliminate the phenomenon of random parking and give the city a civilized appearance that is in line with all the developments taking place in its various sectors
Swimming pool
It was established in cooperation with the Italian municipality of Siena and receives citizens from all over the country and gives swimming courses
Bir Elwad Park
An old well that tells the story of ancient Palestine and how women used to bottle water from it using ancient methods. The municipality restored it and made it a park frequented by everyone who visits the city.
