Local economic development
The Municipality of Dura works to increase development in the economic aspect, and to increase the level of development in the local community, as there is a unit specialized in economic development, private sector partnership, and obtaining benefits for the city in easier and more flexible ways, through which the Municipality of Dura works to enhance economic growth and improve living conditions in the city by during :
1-Promoting small and medium enterprises, encouraging local investment and attracting
investments to the region by providing economic data, information and advice to
local investors, developing infrastructure which contributes to improving the
business environment and attracting more investments, supporting the main
economic sectors: they provide support and assistance to the vital economic
sectors in the region, Such as agriculture, industry and tourism.
2-Providing training and development: The Municipality of Dura works hard to provide
training and professional development for local workers to increase their
skills and improve their job opportunities.
3-The municipality has partnered with institutions to provide training for graduates
and entrepreneurs, such as networking with the Action Against Hunger Foundation
and the Center for Continuing Education at Birzeit University, where a number
of pioneering projects were supported and paid job opportunities were provided.
4-Partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and donor institutions to provide support to farmers.
5-It also organizes economic events and exhibitions to enhance communication between businessmen. These roles enhance the ability of the city and investors to improve the local economy and promote economic development in Palestine in general.
6-Signing partnership agreements with the private sector: The Municipality of Dura signed a partnership project with Mada Al-Arab Company to provide fiber service in the city of Dura, and work is underway to study two partnership projects with the private sector, which are solar energy stations and a closed entertainment city project.
7-Participating in preparing for employment days in addition to bazaars to support small and entrepreneurial projects and provide job opportunities for graduates.
8-Work on preparing studies on the local market in the city of Dura and investment opportunities in the city: providing support and assistance to investors within the capabilities available in the municipality.
9-Participation in economic conferences held in Palestine, in addition to the work of the Dura Municipality during the current period to prepare for the first economic conference, which will be held in the city of Dura, with the aim of introducing the city and the investment opportunities available in the city, in partnership with civic institutions.
10-Dura Municipality is a member of the Local Council for Employment and Training in Hebron Governorate, in addition to a member within the Labor Market Observatory of the Employment Council in the governorate.
