Dura to Launch Weekly Livestock Market Next Monday
Dura Municipality is preparing to launch its weekly livestock market next Monday, September 7, 2026, in the Wadi Abu Al-Qamra area, as part of its efforts to organize the buying and selling of livestock and pets and provide a suitable venue serving breeders, traders, and residents of Dura, neighboring areas, and all governorates across Palestine.
As part of preparations for the launch, Dura Mayor Eng. Muhannad Amr and Municipal Council Member Eng. Yousef Al-Darawish, accompanied by members of the livestock market committee, conducted a field visit to the market site on Tuesday to inspect the final preparations, assess the site’s readiness, and hear feedback and identify needs ahead of the market’s opening.
The preparations include a large, well-equipped area for displaying and selling livestock, parking facilities, sanitation units, and surveillance systems, in addition to security and protection teams from the municipality and veterinary health teams from the General Directorate of Veterinary Services and the South Hebron Directorate of Agriculture. Work is also continuing to further develop the site and improve its services on an ongoing basis.
The launch of the market aims to support breeders and traders, stimulate commercial activity, and provide an organized and suitable space for displaying and selling livestock in a spacious location away from congested areas.
Dura Municipality and the livestock market committee invite all sheep and livestock breeders, traders, and interested parties to attend the market next Monday at Wadi Abu Al-Qamra. The municipality emphasized that participation will be free of charge during the current phase, with no fees, and that the market is open to everyone for selling, buying, and displaying livestock.
The municipality also reaffirmed its commitment to continuously monitoring and developing the market and listening to participants’ feedback, with the aim of ensuring its success and sustainability and providing the best possible services to breeders, traders, and citizens.
