The municipality of Dura was established on january 1 , 1967 . it is a semi-govermental “services” institution to serve the city of Dura , which is one of cities in the Hebron , 8 km away from it , at an altitude of 839 meters above the ground .

It is bordered to the east by yatta . and Hebron , and to the north , adhana and Tafuah , and to the west , the green line ( the lands of 1948 AD ) , and to the south , Al-samu’ and Al-Dhahiria.

The municipality of Dura includes a number of departments and departments through which services are provided to the citizen. The municipality of Dura is affiliated with a number of facilities, the most important of which are the “Dynamometer” car inspection center, the Dura International Stadium, the Siena Park , the municipal public library, the Dura Martyrs Cultural Center and the museum.
