Dura Mayor Eng. Muhannad Amr and members of the municipal council received today, Sunday, Dr. Ahmad Majdalani, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front, along with his accompanying delegation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eng. Amr welcomed Dr. Majdalani and his delegation, speaking about the current political and economic conditions and the challenges they pose at various levels, as well as their direct impact on the performance of government and municipal institutions and on the living conditions of citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting addressed a number of national, political, and economic issues, in addition to the state of municipal affairs and the challenges facing local government bodies. Discussions also focused on ways to continue working under the current circumstances in a manner that contributes to strengthening and improving services provided to citizens and responding to their needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The meeting also highlighted the importance of strengthening citizens\u2019 resilience, supporting national and local institutions, and enabling them to continue carrying out their roles in ways that help mitigate the effects of the economic crisis and difficult political circumstances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For his part, Dr. Majdalani stressed the important role of local government bodies in strengthening citizens\u2019 resilience and providing services.
