Community rehabilitation\n– Dura Municipality<\/span><\/p>

Department\nof Community Rehabilitation<\/span><\/p>

The\ndepartment was established in 2014 to work on following up and assisting social\nand humanitarian cases in the city in all health, educational, social and\neconomic aspects, following up on people with disabilities of all ages and all\ndisabilities, and providing the necessary services to them through\ncommunication with local community institutions and relevant authorities.<\/span><\/p>

 This department works on:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Coordination\nand networking with various governmental, non-governmental and human rights\ninstitutions with the aim of joint work and pressure to provide the necessary\nservices<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Follow up on\nsocial cases and communicate with them to provide them with appropriate\nservices based on the recommendations of the Social Committee in the\nMunicipality of Dura, where there is continuous communication with the cases<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Urging local\nmedia to play a serious role in awareness, education and advocacy towards\nhumanitarian issues and the rights of persons with disabilities<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Facilitating\nthe access of social cases and people with disabilities to opportunities to\nobtain health services, such as health insurance, and to opportunities for\nintegration into education, and facilitating their access to opportunities to\nearn a livelihood and a decent life by providing livelihood projects through\ncoordination with institutions<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Strengthening\nthe capabilities of the local community so that it is able to deal\nconstructively with social and disability issues.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Promoting a\nculture of civil rights and societal accountability and thus a democratic\nculture<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Forming\nself-support groups of people with disabilities and their families, training\nand empowering them to put pressure on officials and decision-makers<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Involving\npeople with disabilities, the elderly, youth, women and children in various\ncommunity activities in order to enhance their participation in various aspects\nof political, economic, social and cultural life.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Participation\nof local councils and associations in social responsibility towards all issues.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Strengthening\nlocal communities’ ownership of the community rehabilitation process so that\nrehabilitation services are available and provided by the local community.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Transferring\npeople with disabilities to benefit from rehabilitation services, such as\ntransferring people with disabilities to benefit from the rehabilitation\nservices provided by the Dura Municipality Rehabilitation Center, physical\ntherapy sessions, speech sessions, occupational therapy sessions, and\nevaluations.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Building the\ncapabilities and empowerment of people with disabilities and their families by\nintegrating them into activities, training them, and working to direct them to\nbenefit from the available services.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

The\ndepartment’s work is followed up and coordinated under the directives of the\nmunicipal director<\/span><\/p>

The necessary plans and programs\nare developed to develop the department and improve its performance in\ncooperation with the competent authorities and various community institutions<\/span><\/p>
